If I see the rain in the distance, I know that I am safe for now. If I can count two or three seconds before I hear the thunder from the flash I know that I am safe. IF I see that the majority of the lightning flashes are remaining in the clouds then I know that I am safe also. It’s done with common sense. I know what will happen in each situation, and I make sure that I don’t get caught up in a situation where there would be a problem. It’s just as simple as that. Another lesson which I have learned when dealing with fear is not to let the fear consume my mind. I do this by focusing on the task at hand or the thing that I need to do to extricate myself from the situation. When I have to scale a high place I focus on the act of climbing or descending so that I won’t have time to think about the height.

I don’t think about the fact that I can fall. That’s just common sense. Instead I focus on doing all of the things that I can do to keep from falling. Fear is the opposite of faith. Now I am not going to give you a faith dissertation here but I will say that fear will keep you frozen in one spot, while faith will propel you into action. That’s the difference between the two. You may have a plan but fear will hinder you from ever carrying it out. You should never make business decisions based on fear. You should make educated decisions based on the facts.
